National Aerospace University n. a. N. E. Zhukovsky “KhAI”, Ukraine 

With 11,000 students and 2,700 academic staff KhAI is one of the leading institutions of higher education in Ukraine for the naming of specialists for the aircraft and aerospace industry in Ukraine and beyond. KhAI has branches in Mexico. Germany, Finland and China and cooperates with first-rate national and foreign manufacturers of aircraft engineering: “ANTONOV”, “BOEING”, “AIRBUS” and participates in the international programs “ALPHA” and “SEALAUNCH”. In addition, KhAI is one of the largest technical universities in Eastern Ukraine.
The Department of Computer Systems and Networks (CSN) carries out intensive research and methodical activities aimed at increasing the quality of engineering studies. The focus of research activities is on the development of methods, techniques, instrumental systems and tools for assessment, modelling, designing and expertise of dependable software, computer systems and networks for aerospace, atomic energy, medical and business-critical applications.

KTH is the largest technical university in Sweden. KTH is actively executing major EU cooperation programmes such as FP7, Lifelong Learning, Tempus, Erasmus-Mundus, Asia-Link and Leonardo da Vinci. Several national and international competence centres and networks of excellence are located at KTH.
KTH is involved as a leading party in two of three new Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KIC) created within European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) aiming at a more in-depth integration of research, education and innovation.
KTH Communication Theory Lab conducts research and education in the general area of digital communications. Lab’s undergraduate education is presented in collaboration with the Signal Processing Lab. Fourteen undergraduate courses are given every year, most of them during the final two years. At the graduate (PhD) level, we offer courses in theoretical aspects of digital communications. The Lab’s research focuses on information and communication theory, with emphasis on wireless systems. Leeds Beckett University, UK

LBU has a lively international student community from over 120 countries.  Currently, there are about 30000 students on our courses, 3,000 staff and 300,000 associate students through our network of 24 partner colleges. LBU has been providing the following via Blackboard Vista (a Virtual Learning Environment): online teaching, learning, and assessment materials; discussion forum; Elluminate for e-Meetings; student evaluation of learning modules; provision of online feedback on assignments/assessments to students. Access to this VLE is made available to both our on and off-campus students (in Hong Kong, India, China, Africa, USA, and many other countries).


 The Institute of Information Science and Technologies, Italian National Research Council, Italy

ISTI-CNR is an Institute of the Italian National Research Council whose objectives are base and applied research in Information and Communication Technology, technology transfer to industrial and public administration areas. The Formal methods and Tools Laboratory (FMTL) is active in the fields of development and application of formal notations, methods and software support tools for the specification, design and verification of complex computer systems. The System and Software Evaluation Centre (SSEC) has years of experience in definition and assessment of system/software lifecycle processes. The Dependable Computing Laboratory is active in the field of dependable architectures and systems, spanning two macro areas: i) Architectures and Techniques for Fault Tolerance Systems, and ii) Quantitative Dependability and QoS Evaluation. FMTL, SSEC and DCL will integrate their expertise to communicate the criteria for energy-saving and environment protection in the lifecycle of system/software products.


Chernivtsi National University, Ukraine

Chernivtsi National University  (CHNU) – one of the leading higher educational institutions in Ukraine, was founded on the 4-th of October. 1875. CHNU is accredited with the highest IV level of accreditation. It has 11 faculties and 2 institutes with about 15 thousand students. Over 1200 lecturers including 130 doctors, professors, 700 PhDs, assistant professors are providing teaching and research work at the University. 10 special councils for thesis defence in 28 specialities work at the University. 124 research works altogether with 12 international scientific projects are being carried out at present. CHNU has over 128 bilateral agreements with foreign partner institutions from 25 countries all over the world. The University open to new initiatives for international cooperation. The University is involved in a number of international education and research projects, as well as into student, research and educational personnel mobility programs. 8 TEMPUS, 6 Erasmus Mundus, 1 Jean Monnet, 3 cross-border cooperation and 11 Erasmus+ KA1 grants have been won by the CHNU during the last 5 years.

V. Dahl East Ukrainian National University, Ukraine

V. Dahl EUNU is one of the leading classical universities in Ukraine which has a strong base for preparing highly qualified professionals for the regional and international labour market. The Computer Engineering (CE) Department trains professionals in system integration, computer-aided design and effective use of computer systems and networks in various fields of industry and human-related domains. CE Dept. carries out an intensive research activity aimed at increasing the quality of training. The main areas of research activities of CE Dept. are focused on developing and evaluating ways to make data more accessible to practitioners and researchers. The main emphasis on accessing and integrating distributed databases, secure data transmitting, presenting the data to users in an informative manner, evaluating the impact of the information on decision-making and longer-term outcomes. CE Dept. has long-term and efficient cooperation with the largest Ukrainian chemical and refinery companies, regional municipalities.


Odessa National Polytechnic University, Ukraine

ONPU founded in 1918 has generated lots of engineering universities and academies of the South of Ukraine keeping the base positioning this region. 20000 of students, graduate employees, post-graduate students are trained here, the process being affected by personnel numbering 2000 lecturers, researchers and practising engineers. There are 57 academicians of NASU, more than 120 Prof. and Doctors of sciences, almost 450 senior lecturers, PPhD In its structure the ONPU has the Institute of Computer Systems which contains 5 major departments, researching various aspects of computer and information technologies. Dept of Computer Intellectual Systems and Networks founded in 1969 develops design and testing of FPGA-based embedded systems and their components, problems of networks reliability and productivity. Dept of Information Systems develops information technologies in the area of computer science.

Ternopil National Economic University, Ukraine

Ternopil National Economic University (TNEU) consists of 14 Faculties. One of the biggest is a Faculty of Computer and Information Technologies (FCIT). FCIT has four departments including Department of Information Computer Systems and Control (ICSC). ICSC has Bachelor and Master Program in Computer Science. ICSC is cooperating closely with American-Ukrainian School teaching CS and PM students in English. There are PhD Programs in Computer Engineering and IT. ICSC is working together with a Research Institute for Intelligent Computer Systems (ICS) conducting international projects within INTAS, CRDF, NSF, NATO, STCU, FP7 programs. ICS is running regular IEEE Conferences on Intelligent Data Acquisition and Advanced Computing Systems every two years since 2001, its scope includes IoT. ICS has a Supercomputer Cluster integrated into National and European Grid. International Journal of Computing is issuing quarterly since 2002 in English where IoT topic is presented as well. ICSC provides courses within IoT: Computer Networks, Client-Server Application Development, HPC.


Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University, Ukraine

Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University (PMBSNU) is a public institution in Ukraine and was found in 1996.  The number of academic staff is about 350, there are around BA and MA 4 000 students and about PhD 100 students. The number of faculties: 6; the number of institutions: 4; the number of departments: 31; the number of disciplines: more than 800. University research centers are: Mykolaiv Political Research Centre of the Ukrainian National Academy of Science (NAS); Centre of System Research and Development of NAS; Regional Centre of Historical Institute of NAS; Southern Branch of Ecological Research Centre;  Regional Centre of Association “Alliance Frances”; the German Language Teaching & Learning Center; Center of European Studies. PMBSNU has programs of cooperation with European institutions: Barcelona University, Stord/Haugesund University College, Ruhr University Bochum, University of Saarland, University of Navarra, Rzeszow University, Wroclaw University, Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Science (Spain), Warsaw University of Life Science and others. PMBSNU’s scholars and scientists published several monographs with colleagues from Spain, Poland, Germany. PMBSNU has Computer Science faculty (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Analysis and Method of Decision Making) and speciality: machine-building; PMBSNU has Specialized Scientific Council for defence dissertations (Dr.Sc. and PhD) on the directions: 05.13.05 – Computer Systems and Components, 05.13.06 – Information Technology.

Zaporizhzhya National Technical University, Ukraine

Today ZNTU has 6 institutes (Institute of Machine Construction, Institute of Physics and Engineering, Institute of Information Science and Radioelectronics, Institute of Economics and Humanities, Institute of Management and Law); 13 faculties; 59 departments; 9 lecture and laboratory buildings with up-to-date equipment; 5 student dormitories able to accommodate 2300 persons. ZNTU develops professionals in 48 sspecialities At present the University numbers over 13000 students, 7350 of whom are full-time students. Information Science and Computer Engineering Faculty prepare professionals in the following specialities Computer Systems and Networks; Customized Computer Systems; Software Systems; Information Technology Design; Systems Analysis and Management. The Faculty contains the following chairs: Computer Systems and Networks; Computer Software; Computing Mathematics. Teachers of the Department take part in 4 Tempus projects. In the department functioning remote laboratory GOLDi. G.Ye. Pukhov Institute for Modelling in Energy Engineering, Ukraine

The scientific activity of IEM is determined by the following directions: the study of fundamental problems of power engineering and theoretical electrical engineering; analysis and synthesis of complex electric circuits and systems, including nonlinear processes; the study of fast flowing processes in power engineering; the development of the methods of simulation and application of computer science facilities in power engineering and other branches of national economy. The high theoretical level of research permits to occupy leading position in the field of the methods and facilities of electronic and mathematical simulation in power engineering. The Institute performs studies in the field of simulating dynamic systems on the basis of integral equations method which provides the extension of possibilities and improvement of methods and facilities of mathematical simulation. The use of the theory of hybrid simulation for the problems of fast flowing process dynamics makes it possible to create new methods and principles of constructing special tools for electronic engineering, software for numerical solution of dynamics problems, etc.

IT Alliance  Education Industry Science (IT ALLIANCE) was registered on 7 June 2007 in the legal organisational form of an association of enterprises. The IT ALLIANCE was established within the framework of reforming public organisation The Association of IT-Distributors and, in a certain sense, is a successor of this organisation. The goal of the Association is to coordinate and consolidate the efforts of Ukrainian IT-companies in order to resolve their professional activity problems, which are of common interest. The membership of the Association consists of 63 IT companies, among which are the biggest distributors, IT-manufacturers, retail chains, system integrators, and representative offices of foreign vendors. The IT ALLIANCE represents and protects interests of the majority of IT-products’ distribution channel participants: foreign vendors and Ukrainian manufacturers, distributors and dealers, retailers, and system integrators.
